So we're introducing a new feature here at Sweet Juniper. Instead of Wood randomly posting here in the center column every few weeks, she's going to try to write every week on her own "blog" in the left column there (under the heading "WoodCraft"). She will be writing about whatever sewing project she's working on at the time. She doesn't want this to be a craft blog in the sense that she would be showing off all kinds of amazing stuff (too much pressure) but instead she envisions this as a place for anyone who's interested to follow along with a beginning crafter as she tries to sew something new every week, and hopefully inspiring some fellow beginners.
Today she's writing about the five or so doll quilts that she made this past month as gifts. I was a bit skeptical when she told me she was planning to give all these girls quilts instead of, you know, popular licensed-character toys made in China and purchased from stores in boxes with plenty of extraneous packaging (as much as I rant about and hate that kind of stuff, I still believe in getting kids the gifts they say they want). But I was pleasantly surprised to see how sweet all of the recipients were when they opened their gifts. They seemed to really love and appreciate them. So click over there to see today's post.
There may not be new content up here in the center column every morning, but there should be some new content (either a photo, or an inspiration post, or a craft post) on Sweet Juniper every day. And Wood will still occasionally pop up here with non-craft posts, because (let's face it) sometimes this blog needs to take a break from me.
